New RB73 Quaruba Stainless Steel & Black Models Launched

RB73 unveils the new Quaruba Stainless Steel range, featuring Raw Matt Silver and Painted Matt Black finishes. After four years of R&D, this modern redesign delivers the same iconic form with enhanced strength and durability.

Four Years of Engineering and Refinement

The RB73 Quaruba Stainless Steel range has officially arrived. RB73, the Dutch brand known for its architectural outdoor stoves, has expanded its iconic corten steel collection with two new models built entirely from 304-grade stainless steel — available in Raw Matt Silver and Painted Matt Black.

These new versions retain the same geometric design that made the Quaruba famous but introduce modern finishes, improved durability, and enhanced precision — the result of four years of meticulous development.

Developing the RB73 Quaruba Stainless Steel range was anything but simple. Stainless and corten steel behave very differently under heat, meaning RB73 had to redesign the Quaruba’s welds, joins, and bracing to handle stainless steel’s unique expansion characteristics.

After four years of testing, the result is a stove that looks identical to the original corten model but is structurally re-engineered to perform perfectly in stainless form — combining design purity with advanced material science.

Built In-House with New Stainless Steel Machinery

When creating the RB73 Quaruba Stainless Steel line, the company discovered that no supplier could produce stainless flue pipes to their high specification — 2 mm wall thickness, exact tolerances, and matching finish. Instead of compromising, RB73 invested in new in-house machinery to manufacture its own pipes and fittings.

This ensures every stainless Quaruba — from the firebox to the chimney cap — is made entirely under RB73’s control, maintaining consistency, strength, and finish quality. It’s a true example of precision Dutch craftsmanship.

Why Stainless Steel?

The move to 304-grade stainless steel wasn’t just aesthetic. This material offers superior corrosion resistance and longevity, particularly suited to coastal homes, commercial terraces, and damp climates.

While corten relies on a controlled rust layer for protection, stainless resists corrosion outright. Every part of the new Quaruba — hinges, fasteners, door frame, and panels — is stainless, creating a cohesive design built to withstand decades of outdoor life.

Two Finishes: Raw Matt Silver and Painted Matt Black

Raw Matt Silver

This version is shot-blasted to achieve a uniform, non-reflective tone. The soft, dull silver surface feels industrial yet refined — ideal for light, contemporary spaces or coastal settings where corten’s warm tones might clash.

Painted Matt Black

The same stainless structure finished in high-temperature resistant matt black paint, delivering a sleek, architectural look. Unlike corten, the black version maintains a consistent appearance over time and won’t stain nearby surfaces.

Both finishes give customers the same Quaruba form and fire view — now with cleaner aesthetics and greater resilience.

Developed from Customer Feedback

RB73’s decision to create the RB73 Quaruba Stainless Steel range was a direct response to customer feedback. Many loved the build quality and design of the corten version but wanted the same craftsmanship in different colours — particularly black for modern spaces or silver for minimalist environments.

The new finishes deliver the same longevity and build integrity as the original, opening the Quaruba to a wider audience and a broader design spectrum.

Full Range Compatibility and Accessories

Every Quaruba configuration is now available in stainless steel, including:

  • Three sizes: L, XL, XXL
  • Two bases: fixed legs or mobile (wheeled)
  • Four viewing options: 1, 2, 3, or 4 glass sides

To complete the look, RB73 offers matching stainless floor plates and flue accessories, allowing customers to build a fully coordinated installation from base to chimney.

Performance and Durability

The RB73 Quaruba Stainless Steel models perform exactly like their corten predecessors — offering panoramic glass, robust air control, and reliable heat output.

Key benefits include:

  • 360° fire visibility (on 4-sided versions)
  • Heavy-gauge 2 mm construction
  • Precision-welded joints
  • Optional spark arrestors and flue extensions

The difference lies in its finish and lifespan — the stainless design requires virtually no maintenance while keeping its original look for years.

Designed for Modern Outdoor Living

Architects and homeowners alike have long admired the Quaruba’s clean geometry and visible flame. The new stainless finishes extend its appeal:

  • Raw Matt Silver fits coastal, Scandi, and natural stone settings.
  • Matt Black suits industrial, urban, and minimalist spaces.

With these new options, RB73 has created one of the most versatile outdoor fireplaces available — equally suited to a modern terrace, a boutique hotel, or a rural courtyard.

Availability – The RB73 Quaruba Stainless Steel models will be available from Summer 2025 through selected RB73 dealers across the UK and Europe. Both finishes — Raw Matt Silver and Painted Matt Black — will be offered across all sizes and configurations.
