Some woodburners are built to blend quietly into the corner. The Skantherm Turn is not one of them. Bold, asymmetric, and capable of rotating a full 360°, this stove is a statement piece in every sense. Designed by Schweiger & Viererbl, the Turn doesn’t just heat your home — it changes the way you experience fire indoors.
Mounted on a clever pedestal base, it can spin smoothly without being bolted to the floor, letting you lock the fire at the angle that suits you best. Whether you’re relaxing on the sofa, hosting around the dining table, or enjoying an armchair tucked in the corner, the flames are always facing you.
Asymmetry Done Right
At the heart of the Turn’s design is deliberate asymmetry. The firebox is offset to the flue pipe rather than sitting neatly underneath it. This unusual arrangement creates an instantly recognisable profile, transforming the stove into an architectural feature.
To balance the offset firebox, Skantherm added an integrated log store to the opposite side. It isn’t just aesthetic — the log store acts as a counterweight, stabilising the stove as it rotates. That mix of beauty and practicality is exactly why the Skantherm Turn feels so different from standard designs.
